As weeks go this one was pretty fast, for me especially since I was here for only two days this week. We had Monday off then I had a ski meet Tuesday and Thursday leaving me to only have Wednesday and Friday to get in various tests and wok that was due and the end of the first marking period. Yet through all this the only thing we seemed to do in English that I really remembered was that we watched various ted talks. It was nice and I found that I was able to relax some what on that day. The ted talks really focused on being a leader or at least that was what I got out of it. This makes sense since we are staring the work on our senior project that requires us to be leaders and and show initiative. It took me a while to come up with something but thankfully I have pretty good friends who already had an idea and together we were able to come up with something pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Me and the other seniors of the ski team are going to be leaders on the ski trip that ganiard public schools takes every year in which we will be helping kids learn and advance in skiing.
So it has been six weeks into his trimester but it seems that we have extended this marking period another week which is going to be helpful with working on the the book "The Great Gatsby". The book brings up the subject on how the class that you are in affects yourself and how it makes you who you are. Being in the lower class means that you are trying to get things so you can manage them while middle class people often tend to manage the resources they have. Not to copy the other classes the upper class seems that it has an abundance of people who act to conserve their on average large quantities of things like the money they have. What surprised me about this is that people more often then not stay in these groups. This seems to be the norm but why don't we celebrate people who can break their tendencies. The only thing that comes to me is that people like to feel comfortable so if given the chance they will stay in the group that they are in because they are used to it.
