Factor and zeros connect because you can often use one to find the other. Division can help factor polynomials because it can get the end product number which you plug into the equation to find the zeros. The degree of the polynomial will predict how large the end equation will be. It does not always tell the correct amount, an example would be if their is X^6+9. your missing from X^5 to X which could lead you to believe it will be a smaller equation than first thought.
